The trees we plant have great ambitions: to bring benefits not only to the environment, but also to the people who live there. This is why we work with NGOs and local communities to select the right tree, for the right place and for the right purpose. This is why we think about the medium and long term, because we are not satisfied with planting trees: we want to make them grow.
Our work, which integrates the cultivation of trees in agricultural contexts, aims to achieve the best benefits for the ecosystem in which it develops. Each project has its own peculiarities and consequently specific areas in which tree planting can produce positive effects, however the most common are: contrasting soil erosion, enrichment of biodiversity, protection of soil fertility, creation of sustainable ecosystems, etc. Each tree, in the course ofits life, absorbs CO₂ (carbon dioxide) from the atmosphere, fixing it in its woody parts. This activity allows CO₂ to be removed from the atmosphereand its effects are all the greater, the more the trees are enabled to grow and live for a long time.
Equally important that our work is able to bring social benefits for local communities that are vital components and give life to ourprojects. Funding, community building, training and technical assistance are the fundamental steps to start each new project. Above all, it is crucial that communities derive direct from trees in terms of food resources and economic opportunities. They willtake care of the trees over time, and enjoy their fruit.
